- Why use MT5 instead of MT4?
MT5 is an improved version of the popular and trusted MT4 platform. Execution is faster, the platform contains an enlarged set of tools for technical analysis and is more convenient, including the ability to work on up to 100 charts simultaneously. In addition, it is supported and developed by MetaQuotes as MT4 will eventually be decommissioned. Trade processing and reporting is fully compliant with the latest regulatory requirements, including MIFID II.

- Can I enter into opposite transactions on the MT5 trading platform?
Yes, you can enter into opposite transactions.
- Are MT5 trailing stops set on the server?
Trailing stops on MT5 are set on the client's computer.
- On MT5, the transaction commission value is in a different place than in MT4 and I can't find it.
The MT5 version is in the History tab.
- Can MT5 be used on Linux/Unix systems?
You can only access MT5 on these operating systems through a browser.
- Is it possible to use indicators/systems with MT5?
Basic indicators available from the MT4 platform are also available on the MT5 platform. You can locate them in the "Market" tab in the platform (or at https://www.mql5.com/en/market), which is the equivalent of MT4 to the MT5 platform. In relation to indicators/systems bought from a supplier, ask the supplier if they also offer them for MT5. In relation to indicators/systems written for you specifically, you should rewrite them for MT5 or find a MT5 freelancer who will undertake the task for you. - Will I have to reinstall the platform, if I have the MT4 version?

- Can I use language from MT4 to write systems?

- Will order execution be faster on MT5?
Yes, it will be faster. This is due to the multi-threaded platform.
- Will the MT4 algorithms work on MT5?
MT5 is created in MQL5, therefore, scripts written for MT4 will need to be rewritten to the MT5 platform requirements.
- Is it possible to use the DDE server to import prices to an Excel spreadsheet?
No, this is not possible.
- On MT5 in the terminal tab can you see the value of the transaction commission?
